Days #17 Hurricane Mills, Tennessee

Well today we finally got a break from riding. The Town of Hurricane Mills, home of Loretta Lynn, is where we are today. It is a nice little town where the people are friendly and the scenery is beautiful. Everyone worked on their bikes, cleaning and oiling them up for the next 7 day stretch of riding. Dennis and Kevin had a visit from Retired Det John Koss and his wife Ann who now reside in Tennessee. Some of us tried to watch the Buffalo Sabres hockey game but unfortunately they aired another game, GO SABRES! Others did some shopping and pretty much everyone took a nap or two. We are all really excited about our up coming arrival in Florham Park, NJ. As a group we have truly bonded to complete our mission and honored to be involved in this worth while endeavor.

NO, we did not run into the"Village People" while in Hurricane Mills but we just wanted everyone to know that to do this Cross Country ride we have to wear different "hats" at times...

Dear Mr. Officer White,
Hi! How are you doing? Are you tired of riding yet? Don't give up. You are almost there. Grace said that she likes to ride bikes too.{Maybe she'll join your ride next year.} We are having trouble finding Hurricane Mills onthe map. Ms.White even "Googled" it and couldn't find it. If we couldn't find it,where are you. Is the boycott happening where you are? It's Jorge's Birthday and he wants you to know.

P.S.We really like your pictures

Wow! Who knew Tennessee was ALL ROLLERS! Keep up the good work--and try to eat some "normal" food (although I think the term "normal" varies in different parts of our great country). Keep you eyes on the scenery (I find that the miles go faster that way), sing a song (in your head OR out loud!) and just keep pedaling! I'm thinking of my best friend Dawn, and deciding just which bottles of wine to open to celebrate your arrival in DC! Keep up the good work, you honor many!
